My name is Shawn A. Yancey, and I am the Proprietor of Earlycoppercoins.com! I have been a coin collector since the age of 10 when my great-grandfather gave me a well-worn 1922 Peace dollar. Sometime around 1997, I got infected with the "early copper bug" and I have been hooked ever since! I attended my first EAC convention in Cincinnati in 1999, and from that point forward, my focus has been strictly on half cents and large cents. I quickly realized that by being a coin dealer, I could see MANY more incredible half cents and large cents pass thru my hands, so that is the path I chose more than two dozen years ago. Since then, I have handled over 10,000 early coppers, and have met hundreds of incredible collectors, all infected with the same early copper bug as myself. My business has always been web-based, and this new website is the culmination of a couple dozen years of hard work.
