Purchased from John Agre at Coin Rarities Online, who described the coin as: “1747 Machin’s Mills ½p. Vlack 1-47A, Rarity-5. F15 [PCGS Gold Shield] Vlack 1-47A, W-7660 variety, considered to be Rarity-5. A tough issue in the Machin’s series, and one seldom found choice. And while this one is not perfect, with some minor planchet rifts and flaws, we had to have it since it exhibits about the nicest golden brown color we’ve seen on this issue in any grade.” Well said – nice color and eye appeal, and a pleasing mid-grade example.
