1787 Fugio Cent N1-L W6605 Cross After Date STATES UNITED PCGS VG8 RARE R5

1787 Fugio Cent, N1-L, W6605, Cross After Date with STATES UNITED, R5.  This is a TOUGH R5 example and a major Redbook variety.  This one has been authenticated and graded by PCGS as VG8, and it's definitely above average for the grade and variety.  Excellent medium tan brown color across mostly smooth surfaces.  Full date and cross, as well as plainly visible STATES UNITED on the reverse.  This coin was purchased by John Agre in the Stacks 04/13/22 auction as lot #1227 at $1080; I purchased the coin from John on 04/28/22 at Central States in Schaumburg.  The Newman 1-L Cross After Date attribution is listed on the PCGS label.
