1787 Fugio Cent N9-P W6755 R4 4 Cinquefoils STATES UNITED PCGS Very Fine

From the Furnace Run collection.  1787 Fugio cent, N9-P, W6755, 4 Cinquefoils with STATES UNITED, R4.  This coin has been authenticated and graded by PCGS as Very Fine details edge damaged.  Well as you can see in all of the photos, there is certainly no outright indication of rim damage, and in fact, this coin was removed from an ANACS VF20 holder and sent to PCGS (the ANACS label remains with the coin).  My only guess is that there is a very minor rim bump above 87 in the date?  So regardless, this is a rich medium brown coin with original surfaces that exhibit some minor hairlines and scattered nicks.  Despite the libel on the label, this is a very nice example with strong details and positive eye appeal, certainly a lot of coin for the money and a variety that feels a little tougher than R4.  The Newman 9-P attribution is listed on the PCGS label.  Ex-eBay 2013; Furnace Run collection.
