1787 New Jersey copper 1/2p M34-J W5115 Deer Head PCGS VF30 EDS Crisp Date

1787 New Jersey 1/2p, M34-J, W5115, Deer Head, R3.  This coin has been authenticated and graded by PCGS as VF30, with "Deer Head Maris 34-J" listed on the PCGS label.  This is a GORGEOUS medium tan brown example with wonderful color, surfaces, and eye appeal.  VF30 details with portions laying claim to full EF, such as the shield definition on the reverse.  Close examination reveals a couple minor scuffs on each side, but these are well-hidden and the eye appeal is overwhelmingly positive.  Struck over a Connecticut with the most visible undertype apparent at lower right corner of the reverse, where CON is quite bold.  Early die state with crisp full date, before the die cud takes out the 8 in later states.  Ex-Leonard Massa via Jeff Rock 08/01/22; from my personal collection.
