1787 New Jersey copper 1/2p, M44-d, W5235, Sleigh Runner, R4. This is one of the "named" New Jersey varieties that goes back over a century. The coin itself is a sharp VF20 with dusky dark brown color, with surfaces that are smooth to the naked eye but show just a hint of granularity in my large photos or with a strong glass. The obverse has a few tiny rim nicks on the right side, while the reverse has a small planchet flaw or cut between the P L of PLURIBUS. My EAC grade is VF20 net F12+, and this is a suitable example for this named variety. From the Furnace Run collection, but with no prior pedigree or purchase records.
