1787 New Jersey copper 1/2p, M54-k, W5295, Serpent Head, R3. This is a gorgeous glossy tan brown example that grades F12. This variety is typically seen with an uneven strike that often leaves the left side of the obverse weak or gone, and that is the case with this example. However, the date is bold, as well as the Serpent Head feature, and the glossy tan color is noteworthy. Just a low grade example, but a nice one at that. From the Furnace Run collection, purchased on eBay in 2014.
