1788 New Jersey copper 1/2p, M50-f, W5475, Head Left, R3. Authenticated and graded by PCGS as G4, and I think perhaps under-graded or net-graded because the obverse certainly meets the standards for VG8. The color is an attractive cameo of dark brown fields with medium brown highpoints, and everything is visible on that side including the Head Left and a bold date. The reverse is a grade weaker as always, and also shows some very minor green pitting that is mostly invisible to the naked eye. Overall a very nice low-grade example of a major Redbook variety that is quite obviously recognizable at first glance! From the Furnace Run collection, purchased from CVM in 2018.
