1793 S-3 Chain large cent, AMERICA Reverse, R3. Authenticated and graded by PCGS as VG10 in a problem-free gold shield holder with "Chain, S-3" on the label. This is a very original chocolate brown example with full even details on both sides including a bold date. Lots of hair definition, plus there is something VERY interesting on the reverse: is that a rim break cud above ERI? I don't see anything in the books about a rim break there, but that is certainly what it looks like. PCGS certification# 35438.10/61252925. Can you remember the last time I offered a wonderfully sharp and original chain cent in this grade and price range? Me neither - it's been a long minute!
