1795 C-4 Liberty Cap Half Cent Punctuated Date Plain Edge R3 PCGS VF25 ex-Torres

From the J. Torres Fixed Price List, offered by CVM at the 2025 EAC Convention in Pittsburgh on 05/15/25.  In that FPL, this coin was lot #17 and described by Bob Grellman as: “1795 C-4 R3 Punctuated Date, Plain Edge, VF25 PCGS.  Choice glossy light to medium chocolate brown with slightly lighter brown toning in protected areas on the obverse.  Smooth and quite attractive with only trivial marks. The best identifying marks are a couple small ticks on the nose, a nick on the top of the cap, and a dull nick over the second A in AMERICA. The date is bold and the “punctuation” between the 1 and 7 is strong. The legends are fully formed except for weakness on CENT (which is nearly always weakly struck on this variety). E-MDS, Manley state 2.0 early, Fuhrman state 2. The die line down from the first T in STATES is incomplete. A beautiful half cent that offers great eye appeal.
