 Description
1795 C5a Liberty Cap half cent, Plain Edge No Pole Thin Planchet, R3. This is the front-line example for the Furnace Run PCGS Registry Set of US half cents from 1793 to 1857 by Cohen Variety. This coin has been authenticated and graded by PCGS as Fine Details Environmental Damage. Certainly Fine details and smooth surfaces but the color indicates an old recoloring. Despite the recoloring, the eye appeal is still very nice and the details are all bold, including the date. Not a perfect coin but still a nice one, especially if you wanted something to fill an album hole. Only one die state; reverse cracks from LDS C4. Purchased on Ebay in 2007; Furnace Run Collection. Without exception, my coins are sharper and more attractive in hand than in my photos. So if you like the photos, you will LOVE the coin!
Redbook Variety: C-5a Plain Edge No Pole
PCGS Coin#: 35083
Pedigree: Furnace Run Collection
