Description

1797 S-126 Draped Bust large cent, Reverse of 1797 with Stems, R3. This coin has very original medium chocolate brown color with bold VF20 details and excellent eye appeal. Close examination reveals a few VERY faint hairlines on the obverse plus a small rim dent at K10 reverse, but more importantly, that the reverse is DOUBLE-STRUCK. The error is plain to the naked eye and even easier to study in my enlarged photos. Great medium dark brown color with some maroon mixed in. The minor defects are likely to keep the coin from grading at PCGS, but it's a beautiful and interesting example, nevertheless. Purchased from CVM on 06/15/24; his insert with $1,200 price and "EDS" remains with the coin. My EAC grade is VF20 net F15.
