NCC-172: 1798 S-158 Draped Bust, Style 1 Hair, R4, PCGS VG10, EAC VG10 net VG8. Graded PCGS VG10, and what a pretty coin for that grade. Nice medium brown color with very minor surface roughness that certainly does not detract from the eye appeal. There are no obvious marks on either side, but there is an obvious reverse die crack running from the T in UNITED through the wreath and terminating at the second T in STATES on the reverse. It's a dramatic crack which I happen to love. There is some weakness on the upper left side above the die crack which is not wear but obviously a result of the broken dies. My EAC grade is VG10 net VG8 Average. PCGS VG10 S-158 1st Hair Style New Cumberland Collection #36038.10/47927455. Ex-D&S Coins via Ed Hipps 03/09/04.
