1821 N-2 Coronet Large Cent, Wide Date, PCGS MS62BN, CAC, R1.  Another great coin, with lustrous, reflective surfaces and excellent eye appeal.  Perfectly centered and well-struck, with sharp star centers, well-separated hair, and bold denticles on both sides.  The surfaces are nearly mark-free, and what appears to be a faint scratch from the bust tip to the rim right of the first star is actually a fine die crack.  About the only “defect” I see here is that MS62 grade, which for some reason, NOBODY likes!?  You might not like the grade number, but you will LOVE this example!  Purchased from Steve Miller, who purchased the coin from Doug Bird at EAC 2016.  At that time, Doug disclosed that this coin was a consignment from another dealer whose customer had purchased it over the counter from Stacks in the 1950’s.  The PCGS Price Guide shows $17,500 for a non-CAC coin, but this example is clearly CHOICE and that CAC-sticker agrees, so this coin is available at $18,500.  PCGS certification# 1621.62/25200471.
