1828 C3 Classic Head half cent, 13 Stars Obverse, R1. A duplicate from the Furnace Run collection, authenticated and graded by NGC as MS65BN, and CAC-stickered as CHOICE for the assigned grade. Incredibly lustrous chestnut brown with traces of maroon, very attractive for the grade. I am not 100% certain but I believe this is M4.0 because star 7 is not visibly repunched and the wreath spine on the reverse is shorter than the earlier states. Maybe my photos are large enough that you can confirm the die state for me? Purchased from Steve Contursi in 2010; Furnace Run collection. Without exception, my coins are sharper and more attractive in person than in my photos, so if you like the photos you will LOVE the coin!
