Description
1835 N16 Coronet large cent, Head of 1836, R2. This coin has been authenticated and graded by PCGS as EF40, but more importantly, this is a major mint error with TWO mistakes. First, the coin was struck at least 10% off-center toward obverse K7, and second, the coin was struck on a split planchet at obverse K3. Fortunately the date remains boldly visible on the planchet, and the coin itself is a glossy medium brown with nice original color and great eye appeal. Early die state yet still easily attributable as N16. A very nice certified example of this dramatic (double) mint error. Ex-Alfred Vialobos at TNA 06/04/22.
