1771 Vlack 2-71A Machin’s Mills 1/2p, GEORGIVS III Group I, W7670, R4.  From the Heritage auction of The Alamo Collection of US Colonial Issues, sold on 04/30/26 as lot #3396 and described as: “'1771' Machin's Mills Halfpenny, VF30.  Vlack 2-71A, W-7640, Few are Finer.  Partial Sawtooth Borders.  '1771' 1/2 P Machin's Mills Halfpenny, Vlack 2-71A, W-7670, R.4, VF30 PCGS. Vlack 2-71A, R.4. The single finest of five examples certified by PCGS. Most survivors are likely too corroded, cleaned, or damaged to make it into a PCGS holder. This medium brown piece has the usual strike with a softly brought up head of Britannia, partially the result of shallowly cut dies. The surfaces are smooth and unabraded aside from a concealed vertical mark on the shield. Listed on page 37 of the 2026 Guide Book.
