1787 Connecticut 1/2p M29,2-o W2165 R5+ PCGS VG10 CHOICE Henry C. Miller

From the Stacks Bowers January 2012 Americana sale, sold on 01/24/12 as lot #7197 from the SLT Collection, and described as: “1787 Connecticut Copper. Miller 29.2-o, W-3165. Rarity-5+. Draped Bust Facing Left. VG-8.  149.2 grains. Deep golden tan surfaces are well-worn but barely marked at all, and choice for the grade as such. A pleasing circulated example with an equally pleasing pedigree chain.  PCGS# 370.  Provenance: From Collection SLT. Earlier from our (Bowers and Merena's) sale of the Chris Schenkel Collection, November 1990, lot 5397; our (Stack's) sale of September 1994, lot 31; Tom Elder's sale of the Miller Collection, May 1920, lot 1916. Ex Ryder, Boyd, Ford. Accompanied by Elder's sale envelope.”  The coin was offered as a raw VG8 in that sale, and sold for $632.50.  The coin is now in a PCGS VG10 holder with “DB Left, Miller 29.2-o, Henry C.
