1787 Connecticut Copper 1/2p M43.1-Y W4250 CONNFC PCGS EF45 Draped Bust Left R2

From the Earlycoppercoins PCGS Registry Set.  From the Stacks Bowers sale of the Twin Leaf collection, sold on 03/01/19 as lot #8348 and described as: “1787 Connecticut Copper. Miller 43.1-Y, W-4250. Rarity-2. Draped Bust Left, CONNFC. EF-45 (PCGS).  142.4 grains. Glossy deep olive brown surfaces are uniform and rather choice. Subtle mahogany tones are noted in the reverse field left of Liberty’s legs. A few light, striated natural flaws are noted on both sides, a hair more aggressive on the reverse, but none is distracting. Very few handling marks are seen beyond a couple of small rim nicks. Nicely struck and well centered on both sides. This variety tends to come nice and this example certainly does not disappoint.  From the Twin Leaf Collection.  Provenance: From the Twin Leaf Collection of Connecticut & Massachusetts Coppers. Earlier ex Tom Rinaldo at the 2000 EAC Convention.”  This coin brought a bargain price of just $780 back in 2019, which seems way to cheap for a high-graded example of this major Redbook variety.  I purchased the coin from CVM at ANA OKC on 08/21/25 for a much higher price!  PCGS certification# 687374.45/36651125.
