1787 Massachusetts Half Cent 1/2C Ryder 3-A W5920 R5 PCGS VF35 Furnace Run collection

1787 Massachusetts Copper Half Cent, R3-A, W5920, R5.  This coin has been authenticated and graded by PCGS as VF35, and it's an average example that shows some fine hairline scratches on the obverse, as well as some weakness of strike at obverse center.  The reverse is stronger and evenly-struck, with slightly nicer surfaces.  The color is a very even rich chocolate brown and the surfaces are glossy and attractive.  Somewhat tougher R5 variety, and this is a nice example.  Ex-Ebay 2007; Furnace Run collection.  REDUCED FROM $1150 TO $999.
