1787 New Jersey copper 1/2p, M63-s, W5375, Sprig Above Plow, R2. WOW! GORGEOUS! Authenticated and graded by PCGS as VF Details Environmental Damage. Um, okay? I fully expected this coin to grade EF40, and despite the slander on the PCGS label, this is probably the single most attractive New Jersey copper 1/2p that I have handled. Not sure where they see any damage, but perhaps it is a slightly darker patch of MICRO roughness on the reverse near K8? See the photos and judge for yourself - but if you love gorgeous tan brown New Jersey coppers, then this one needs to be broken out of this ridiculous holder, warmly wrapped in a blanket of cotton insert and paper liner, and brought out to gasps of amazement. Can you tell that I REALLY like this coin! Well, it's even better in person! From the Furnace Run collection, purchased on Ebay in 2014.
