1787 New Jersey copper, M48-g, W5275, R1. This coin has been authenticated and graded by NGC as AU53 and noted as "mint error" on the label. That error is an as-made small planchet clip at K7, as seen in my photos. The coin itself has glossy peanut butter tan brown color, smooth surfaces, and good eye appeal. The horse's hair is well-detailed, the reverse legends are quite tall, and the shield definition is especially impressive. A common variety but a good-looking example. Ex-Bradford Walden 11/11/22.
