1787 New Jersey copper 1/2p M37-f W5155 Goiter Obverse R4 F12 net VG8+

1787 New Jersey copper 1/2p, M37-f, W5155, Goiter Obverse, R4.  This is a very nice example with F12 details and very nice medium tan brown color.  The Goiter feature is exceptionally bold, as is the rest of the obverse.  The reverse is typically weaker at the borders, yet most of the legend remains visible and the shield is fully outlined and with some interior definition.  There is some very minor planchet roughness plus a shallow dark fissures at the lower right edge of the shield, so my EAC grade is F12 net VG8+.  The minor defects might keep it out of a PCGS holder, yet this is a very nice example thanks to the wonderful color and bold Goiter feature.  From the Furnace Run collection, purchased on eBay in 2012.
