From the Heritage sale of the James E. Blake collection on 09/05/23, where this was lot #93121, and was not described in that auction. The coin has a nice mixture of peanut butter tan brown with a splash of dark strawberry jam at the right obverse and left reverse. The PLURIRUS errors is clear to the naked eye, and for the R4+ M55-l variety, this is actually a decent mid-grade example. From The James E. Blake Collection of United States Colonial Coins & Tokens. This coin realized just $960 in that auction, and I am asking $2,350 based off the PCGS price guide value of $2,750 for this coin, because incredibly, this is the second highest graded example at PCGS, with only a VF20 in front of it. That VF20 also has similar dark toning on left obverse, and it sold for $2,640 at Stacks in Augst of 2022. The PCGS label includes "PLURIRUS, Maris 55-l," coin# 767836.15/37291044. This example was purchased to go straight into my personal PCGS Registry Set collection, where it will stay until I can upgrade it.
