Description

1788 Massachusetts Copper Cent, Ryder 3-E, W6220, Period After Massachusetts, R4. This coin has been authenticated and graded by PCGS as VF Detail Environmental Damage. 9 days out of 10, this coin grades VF20 or higher at PCGS; on the day we submitted the coin, it did NOT. The obverse is problem-free, and in hand, so does the reverse appear to be. In my supersize photos I can see some very minor roughness at the bottom of the reverse that MUST be the reason for the non-grade. Crack it out and try again and maybe there is a different result. Regardless, this is a very decent VF+, and if you prefer raw coins, then you should seriously this one at the attractive price. Ex-unknown 2009; Furnace Run collection.
