1793 S-5 R4 Wreath Large Cent Vine & Bars Edge VF20 net VG10 New Cumberland Collection

NCC-005: 1793 S-5 Wreath Cent, Vine and Bars Edge, R4, EAC VF20 net VG10.  Sharpness easily VF20, but the coin is evenly corroded with a very dark brown (nearly black) color which suggests a possible ground recovery.  The obverse features a bold large LIBERTY (this is the only variety with that feature with LIBERTY the larger size as seen on the chain cents), a well-detailed portrait with tons of hair and facial definition, and a very strong date.   The reverse is equally matched, with all details bold, even the beaded border.  Mostly dark brown with some patches of maroon and green, especially on the reverse, but the overall look in hand is nicer and lighter color than what you see in the photos.  My EAC grade is VF20 net VG10.  Ex-D&S Coins 07/20/93.
