1795 S-80 R5- Liberty Cap Large Cent JEFFERSON HEAD PCGS AG3 New Cumberland Collection

NCC-085: 1795 S-80 JEFFERSON HEAD, Plain Edge, R5-, PCGS AG3, EAC FR2 Choice.  PCGS AG3 and CHOICE!  A well-known example recorded in Numistudy V6 as #38918, graded PR1 Plus and CC#42.  I will disagree with PR1, sorry.  Glossy dark chocolate brown with smooth surfaces.  The obverse is fully AG3 with a bold LIBERTY, complete Jefferson Head, and at least half of the date readable to the naked eye.  The reverse is worn nearly smooth, so my EAC grade is AG3/PR1 net FR2 Choice.  Although low-grade, it’s exceptionally nice, and the pedigree reaches back to Dorothy Paschal in 1960.  PCGS AG3 Jeff, Plain Edge, #1386.03/21589679.  Ex-Dorothy Paschal 1960; Eugene Exman; Denis W.
