Description

1797 S124 Draped Bust Large Cent, Reverse of 1797 with Stems, R5+. This coin has been authenticated and graded by NGC as VG8 and as far as these go, this is a nice example. Glossy light chestnut brown with some very fine hairlines most likely from an aggressive brushing, so my EAC grade is VG8 net G4. I have handled very few examples of this variety, which certainly still feels like R5+ in terms of rarity.
