Description

1797 S125 Draped Bust Large Cent, Reverse of 1797 with Stems, R5. Sharpness at least VF25+, probably sharper, but dark and microgranular surfaces obscure some of the definition, especially on the obverse. The reverse is more attractive and seems less disrupted by the roughness. There are also a couple of vertical scratches well-hidden in the obverse patina that reduce the net grade to F12. This is a tough R5 variety, and although I have not handled many S125's, I actually have TWO of them for sale at the same time, so make sure you check out the other coin, too, which is my stock #13165.
