NCC-167: 1798 S-154 Draped Bust, Style 1 Hair, R4+, EAC G5 net G4. A nice-low grade example that grades G5 and is almost a twin to the S-151 in this collection. This is one of the Large 8 varieties, with nice color and surfaces that are mostly smooth but do show a hint of microgranularity. It’s my job to be picky so I will call out a TINY nick in front of the nose, a dull scrape between the 7-9 in the date, and a very tiny rim nick at reverse K3. None of these amount to much, other than a 1-point reduction to the sharpness grade. The date is VERY strong while LIBERTY is weaker, and the reverse has a couple of areas of swelling at either side. My EAC grade is G5 net G4. Ex-Mark Hotz 09/08/90.
