Description

NCC-233: 1801 S-215 Draped Bust, Normal Reverse, R4+, EAC VF20 net VG8. VF20 details but they are hidden beneath rough surfaces. Very dark steel brown, with some areas of lighter erosion that eats slightly into the surfaces. The obverse die cracks in the lower left quadrant remain visible, as does everything else on that side. The surfaces are a degree rougher on the reverse, which also makes those details less legible. The incused bust tip at S-OF remains visible despite the surface roughness. Definitely a below-average example, but sharp and easily attributable. My EAC grade is VF20 net VG8. Ex-D&S Coins 05/16/95.
