1802 S-231 R1 Draped Bust Large Cent PCGS VF VF30 net VF25 New Cumberland Collection

NCC-253: 1802 S-231 Draped Bust, Stemless Reverse, R1, PCGS VF Details, EAC VF30 net VF25.  Considered VF30 Choice by my consignor, and I cannot disagree.  But PCGS can!  They have authenticated and graded this coin as VF Details Cleaned.  I see no evidence of that: the color is perfectly original throughout, and the surfaces are undisturbed, glossy, and quite captivating.  The only defects I can locate are some faint nicks well-hidden on the back of the jaw, beneath the curls below the ear, and in the middle of the neck.  These are all nearly invisible in person.  GREAT eye appeal, so soft and pleasing.  This coin absolutely must be released from its slanderous holder!  My EAC grade is VF30 net VF25 and certainly PLUS.  PCGS Genuine Cleaned VF Details S-231 No Stems New Cumberland Collection #36344.92/47927470.  Ex-D&S Coins 01/08/91.
