1802 S234 Draped Bust Large Cent, Normal Reverse, R3. This coin has been authenticated and graded by PCGS as VF30, and tied for CC#15 as EAC VF25. This variety is called the Dripping Paint variety due to the rim break that leaks down from the rim into LIBERTY, but this is an earlier die state with most of the paint still in the can! Extremely nice and original with BOLD VF25 details on both sides, and glossy medium chocolate brown color throughout. A glass shows only tiny nicks on the obverse while the reverse is nearly flawless. A very example of this Sheldon variety. The S-234 attribution is on the PCGS label. Ex-Tom Reynolds at EAC St. Louis 05/15/22. Tom's notes and inserts with the coin include: ex-James Sloss; Abe Kosoff 1959 lot 70; N. Larabee; Mayflower 1-1963 lot 141; J. Without exception, my coins are sharper and much more attractive in person than in my photos, so if you like the photos, you will LOVE the coin!
