1828 N-10 Coronet Large Cent, Small Wide Date, PCGS MS63BN, R1.  Purchased from Harry Laibstain Rare Coins.  This is an attractive example with bold mint luster and even coloration on both sides, giving this coin great eye appeal.  Close examination reveals some tiny nicks on the obverse in front of the face and on the portrait.  Although these are visible in the enlarged photos, they are NOT noticeable in person until you pull out a loupe.  The reverse is essentially mark-free.  VERY nice for a high-grade example of this easily recognizable Redbook variety, which is noted on the PCGS label as “Small Wide Date.”  Note that Newcomb-10 is the ONLY variety that fulfills this Redbook type.  PCGS Price Guide is $5,250; offered here at just $4,950.  PCGS certification# 1657.63/48121643.
