1861 $5 Demand Note FR#1 New York PMG 25 Choice Original VF25 Very Fine Fr #1

From the Heritage auction of 10/10/25, where this note was lot #22017 and described as: “Attractive and Problem Free New York Demand Note.  Fr. 1 $5 1861 Demand Note PMG Very Fine 25.  The Demand Note featured in this lot possesses great eye appeal for the grade and is an excellent representative of the original Greenback type note. Crossing the public auction block for the first time, this piece, most importantly, is housed in a comment-free holder as it has sustained just problem free wear and has avoided the various flaws that normally afflict these early type notes. Three years ago, another problem free example, in a PMG Very Fine 20 holder, fetched almost $5,000 at auction.”  This note realized $5,760 in this current auction; Original S/N 61467 / Series 4 pp C; PMG certification# 2001034-001; serial# 12502001034001G.
