480-475BC Sicily Syracuse AR Silver Tetradrachm NGC F 4/5 4/5 Ancient Greek coin.  Purchased raw from Mark Hotz on 02/17/25, and he described the coin as: "SICILY SYRACUSE 480-475 BC ~ SILVER TETRADRACHM ~ ARETHUSA & DOLPHINS ~ LOVELY.  22mm 17.0g.  Arthusa head facing right. Dolphin all around. SYRAKOSION in Greek.  Male charioteer in slow biga to right, Nike above crowning horses.  A lovely old-collection coin with nice toning. Totally problem-free!"  Now authenticated and graded by NGC Ancients as F with Strike 4/5 Surface 4/5 and "marks" comment.  So I paid $1,712.98 for this coin raw and then had it graded, because I thought it would grade much higher than F, at least CH F.  Regardless, this is a VERY nice example with attractive medium gray color, and nice even details on each side.  Lots of definition to the portrait, and the "Syracuse" legend in Greek is bold.  I definitely consider this as a "PLUS" example.  NGC certification# 8232078-003.
