I, 66-67; HGC 4, 1655.  From the Gorny & Mosch auction #310 on 03/03/25, lot #146, described as: “GREEKS/ATTICA/ATHENS. Coat of arms coin. Obol ø 8mm (0.58g). 545 - 525/15 B.C. Vs.: Gorgoneion. Reverse: Quadratum incusum divided by two diagonals. SNG Cop 13; Seltman Taf. IV; Svoronos Taf. I, 66-67; HGC 4, 1655.  Ex Apollo to Apollo Collection. Condition:  Dark tint, ss.”  Although comparatively low grade, I consider this a very suitable example of an incredibly hard to find “Wappenmunzen” variety.  Now authenticated and graded by NGC Ancients as F with Strike 3/5, Surface 3/5, and NO comments.  NGC certification# 8232870-003.
