Purchased from Dmitry Markov Coins on 01/21/26, who described the coin as: “Kings of Lydia. Time of Cyrus-Darios I. Silver Siglos (5.30 g), ca. 550/39-520 BC. Sardes mint. Confronted foreparts of a lion and bull. Reverse: Two incuse squares. Traité I 409-11; SNG v. Aulock 2877-9; SNG Ashmolean 762-71; SNG Kayhan 1025. In NGC holder graded Ch VF: Strike 5/5; Surface 4/5. NGC Certification Number 6957064-006.” This is the first half-stater that I have offered, and this is a VERY nice example with particularly bold definition to both the lion and the bull. I have not seen many of these to compare with, but this one sure seems exceptionally nice to my eyes!
